HSR AND COLIN GARRETT RIDING WAVE OF CONFIDENCE GOING INTO MEMPHIS

DANVILLE, Va., May 30, 2018 – On Saturday, June 2, Colin Garrett will make his third NASCAR K&N Pro Series East career start in the Memphis 150 presented by AutoZone at Memphis International Raceway in the No. 18 Propel GPS Toyota Camry with Hunt-Sellers Racing.

DSC_6581Following a top-three finish in only his second career start and recording HSR’s highest finish as a team, Colin Garrett is excited to take on a track he has never been to before – the ¾-th mile tri-oval of Memphis International Raceway. Additionally, Garrett will be looking to Peyton Sellers, co-owner of HSR, for advice since he has successful experience at this track.

“Going to a track I’ve never been before will be exciting but a little nerve-racking because we only get one day of practice,” said Garrett. “It’ll be a challenge that I’m ready for.”

The team is riding a huge wave of momentum going into Memphis that has brought on a lot of excitement in the race shop. With a sixth-place finish at Langley Speedway and a third-place finish in the first Twin 100 at South Boston Speedway, co-owner Sam Hunt is thrilled with the team’s successes so far this season and eagerly awaits what Memphis has in store.

“I’m excited to get to Memphis. It’s our first higher speed track of the year,” said Hunt. I’m looking forward to our successes as we keep building and progressing as a team.”

Hunt explains that the team’s confidence is high despite a mechanical malfunction that ensued at the beginning of the second Twin 100 at South Boston Speedway.

“Our confidence is high but there are many places we can and still need to improve on in all aspects. Colin has done a great job through his first two races and I’m excited to see him get his feet wet running these cars at higher speeds starting this weekend. We are all ready to get back to the track and continue our progression as a group.”

Garrett thanks Propel GPS, EMRYS Properties, Liquid Performance, Mission 22 and Simpson Race Products for making this opportunity possible.

The Memphis 150 presented by AutoZone at Memphis International Raceway will begin at 6 p.m. CST. The race will be tape-delayed on NBC Sports Network on Wednesday, June 6 at 6 p.m. EST.
